Prison authorities appear to have thwarted Krugersdorp serial killer Cecilia Steyn’s plan to break out of prison, Netwerk24 reported.
Last Sunday, the Department of Correctional Services searched the “D3 maximum section” of the Johannesburg women’s prison, where some of the country’s highest-profile female criminals are held, including Steyn, her close friend, Marinda Steyn, Rochelle Botha, who murdered her two-year-old daughter, Chevonne, and convicted fraudster Hildegard Steenkamp.
The publication reported that a floorplan of the Johannesburg women’s prison was allegedly found during a search.
