PROTEAS VERDICT | Vanity second best for SA as process wins over gloss ahead of World Cup semi-final
The semi-final line-up was confirmed on Tuesday morning (SA
time) after Afghanistan’s thrilling win over Bangladesh St Vincent. After
scoring a meagre 115/5 in 20 overs, Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for 105
in a rain-affected game, securing an 8-run win on the DLS method.
The result
also meant that Australia were knocked out of the tournament after earlier losses to
Afghanistan and India.
South Africa and Afghanistan will aim to make history as neither nation has contested
an ICC World Cup final.
