South African comedian Trevor Noah and his projects have received three Emmy nominations for his Netflix special and hosting the 66th Grammy Awards.
Noah and his projects received nominations in the categories of Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for the 66th Grammy Awards, where he was a producer/host; Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special for Trevor Noah: Where Was I, where David Paul Meyer was nominated; and the comedy special received another nomination for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).
The comedy special – Where Was I – was released in December 2023 and was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award earlier this year in the category of Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television. The award went to Ricky Gervais: Armageddon.

Noah and The Daily Show’s team already won an Emmy at the 75th ceremony, which took place in January 2024.
During his Emmy acceptance speech, Noah said:
“This story has been so long, so crazy, so wonderful. Thank you so much to the team and the person I always thank, the crazy genius Jon Stewart. Thank you for calling me up and asking me to come join you on this crazy journey.”
The Los Angeles Times reported that Noah is “the first Black person to win an Emmy for outstanding talk series”.
For the 76th Emmys, hit drama series Shogun topped nominations on Wednesday, earning 25 nods, with the culinary dramedy The Bear earning 23.
