Discussion | Using debate to empower SA’s youth

PRETORIA – Safer South Africa Foundation CEO, Riah Phiyega is calling for the art of debate to be revived in schools. 

Several studies have shown that it is a vital co-curricular activity with many social and personal benefits, it’s also been identified as a life-changing skill, deemed essential for the 21st century.

This call comes after, 5 young South Africans represented South Africa in Belgrade, Serbia at the prestigious World School Debating Championship.
