PROPHET Paseka Mboro Motsoeneng and two others will spend a week in custody.
Mboro, his son Vincent Motsoeneng, and bodyguard, Clement Baloyi, made a brief appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 7 August.
The other two suspects’ case will be held separately. The case was postponed to 16 August, and the trio was remanded in custody.
Mboro and his two accused are facing kidnapping, possession of dangerous weapons, discharging a gun, pointing a firearm, assault by way of threats, malicious damage to property, possession of an unlicenced firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm charges.
They were arrested after they went to Matsediso Primary School on Monday, 5 August and threatened teachers as they forcefully took two kids from the school.

The videos went viral and showed Mboro wielding a panga, attempting to hack people.

Meanwhile, a crowd was present outside court, with some saying Mboro must never be given bail. Others were Mboro’s supporters who said he was innocent and demanded that the court should set him free.
Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza said that five suspects were arrested on Monday night and will appear in the Palm Ridge Court in due course.
“They’re facing a variety of charges, including assault, handling a firearm recklessly that could endanger lives and property, rendering security services while not registered, malicious damage to property, and intimidation. A replica firearm and pangas have since been confiscated,” Kweza said.
She said one of the suspects was arrested for assaulting the station commander at Katlehong North Police Station when a group of people were demanding to deal with the local pastor outside the cop shop.
Kweza said this followed an incident where Mboro, his security personnel, and others stormed Matsediso Primary School on Monday and forcibly took two minor kids.
Meanwhile, the two other arrested suspects, the maternal grandmother and uncle have been released on a R1 000 bail each. Their matter has been postponed to 10 September.
The two are facing a charge of common assault and intimidation. They were released under strict bail conditions that they must not communicate with the suspects and should not go anywhere near the suspect’s house.
