JOHANNESBURG -The International Astronomical Union General Assembly, is currently underway in Cape Town. 

The event marks the first time ever it’s hosted on the African continent in the Union’s 105-year history representing a significant milestone for both the IAU and South Africa.

The assembly will bring together more than 2,000 experts from 82 countries, underscoring Cape Town’s emergence as a leading hub for scientific discourse and innovation.
