THE Diniso family from Sixuxula Village at Baziya in Mthatha, Eastern Cape wants justice.
This after their 17-year-old teenager was killed allegedly by residents of the village over the weekend on Sunday, 11 August.
Kamva Diniso, who was a grade 10 pupil at Joyi Senior Secondary School, was assaulted and died on the scene after he was accused of stock theft.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said police are investigating a case of murder following an 18-year-old boy who was assaulted to death on Sunday, 11 August at about 4am.
“Police were called to a scene that occurred at Sixuxula Location, Baziya Administrative Area in Mthatha. According to the information, it’s alleged that he was found in a certain homestead kraal, and the owner alerted the community who assaulted him. He succumbed to death due to the injuries,” Mawisa said.
She said no arrest has been made, and the police investigation is underway.
According to Khula Community Project spokesman Petros Majola, who is also the family’s spokesperson, the teenager was allegedly drunk and left his friends to go and see his girlfriend.

“It’s alleged that he fell asleep while waiting for his girlfriend and woke up the following day next to the kraal.
“When the residents noticed him, they beat him up, accusing him of being a stock thief,” he said.
Majola said it’s difficult to get to the truth of the story as none of the family members were present at the time.
“We all know that he was accused of stock theft and was assaulted to death. No one has been arrested for Kamva’s murder. The suspects were never arrested, and the family is still looking for answers,” he said.
Majola said the family is devastated by what happened to Kamva.
“We want justice for Kamva and someone must be arrested for his murder,” he said.
