WC parents battle to find places for children

CAPE TOWN – On Wednesday, hundreds of thousands of children returned or started school for the first time.

The Western Cape Education Department has allocated places for nearly 120,000 pupils who applied for Grade one and eight for the 2025 school year.

But 2,500 pupils are still waiting for a spot.
