JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Economic Development MEC Lebogang Maile says townships have transformed from being reserves for black labour to spaces of immense economic opportunities.

There are approximately 3.3 million micro and informal enterprises in South Africa, with over half of these operating in Gauteng.

It’s estimated that almost 20 prcent of total employment is generated by the township economy.

To discuss this further is Bulelani Balabala, founder of the Township Entrepreneur’s Alliance, and a distinguished award-winning social entrepreneur and business speaker.
