Man Utd make enquiry about Switzerland Euro 2024 star

Manchester United’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements has taken an intriguing turn, with a report claiming they have set their sights on Dan Ndoye.

A key starter for Switzerland during this summer’s European Championship, Ndoye showcased his talent in a standout performance in their last group stage game against Germany, notably scoring a goal and narrowly missing out on a second due to an offside call.

The 23-year-old’s impressive display seemingly caught the attention of United. According to Italian Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils have ‘asked for information’ in regards to Ndoye, who plies his club trade with Bologna.

INEOS know the player well as he has previously plied his trade at Lausanne-Sport and Nice, two clubs belonging to the same ownership.

United must move fast if the price is right, however, as Ndoye is also of interest to some other Serie A sides, particularly Inter, who see the player as as an ideal replacement for wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

United are actively pursuing a right-sided forward following Antony’s constant underwhelming performances since his £82m move from Ajax. Moreover, uncertainty looms over the future of Jadon Sancho, adding urgency to United’s search for attacking reinforcements.

Ndoye registered only one goal and two assists in 32 Serie A outings throughout the 2023/24 season. He joined Bologna last summer in a £7.6m deal from FC Basel.

He remains at Euro 2024 with Switzerland, who reached the quarter-finals on Saturday with a statement 2-0 win against holders Italy.
