New Kaizer Chiefs signing sends message to Spurs 

Kaizer Chiefs announced Rushwin Dortley as the club’s third signing last week. The 22-year-old has now sent a message to his former club Cape Town Spurs.

KAIZER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE RUSHWIN DORTLEY

As reported last week, Amakhosi confirmed the left central defender’s transfer from the Urban Warriors.

“The 22-year old defender from Cape Town joins Amakhosi on a three-year deal with a one-year option. He arrives from Cape Town Spurs where he played 26 matches in the premiership last season.

“Just like the other two guys, we are looking forward to Dortley’s contribution in our team,’ concludes Motaung Jr. “He is a quality defender, who has played for the junior national teams. We really believe he will add a lot of value to Kaizer Chiefs, especially at the back.”

RUSHWIN DORTLEY’S MESSAGE TO SPURS

“Thank you Cape Town Spurs for the past 7 years that I have spent at the club and for giving me the platform to start my professional career,” the new Kaizer Chiefs defender said via his Instagram.

“Thank you to the owners for believing in me and trusting me,thank you to all the coaches I have worked with over the years and everyone behind the scenes the kit man those in the kitchen the grounds man, drivers and everyone that works at the club. And thank you to the amazing fans for everything. The club was always like my second home and will always have a special place in my heart,” Dortley concluded.

In the meantime, the Soweto giants have confirmed the first set of 10 fixtures for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership.

The season will be starting with an away challenge in Bloemfontein against Marumo Gallants on the 14th of September, followed a home match against Stellenbosch FC on 22 September.
