Repo rate | Reserve Bank’s MPC to meet on Thursday

JOHANNESBURG – The South African Reserve Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee meets this week.

Economists expect the SARB to hold rates at 8.25 percent.

This with the hope of interest rate cuts pushed back to September.

But some economists say rates could only be cut in November or even at the beginning of next year.

Its last meeting in May was the sixth consecutive time that interest rates remained on hold.
