Snl24 | Nabi responds to squad quality at Chiefs

Nasreddine Nabi has raised his voice about the squad at his disposal at Kaizer Chiefs.

Fact of the matter is that the Kaizer Chiefs squad which finished in 10th place in the league last season didn’t do justice to why they should be wearing the famous Gold and Black colours.

No surprise that the exit door has been busy, with Keagan Dolly leading Njabulo Ngcobo, Siyethemba Sithebe, S’fiso Hlanti, Efmamjjasond Gonzalez and Itumeleng Khune on the way out.

The arrivals section has welcomed Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley, and for those that have remained from last season, the new campaign will be a lifetime opportunity to prove why they should still be referred to as Chiefs players.

For Nasreddine Nabi, his first season will come with also weighing up what he has at his disposal.

The goalkeeping department has been reinforced with Ntwari following the non-renewal of Khune’s contract and will have Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma and Bontle Molefe as the other options.

At the back, Zitha Kwinika, Reeve Frosler, Given Msimango, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edmilson Dove, Bongani Sam and Rushwin Dortley will provide options.

The midfield has Yusuf Maart, Samkelo Zwane, Edson Castillo, Happy Mashiane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Mfundo Vilakazi, Tebogo Potsane, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Lehlogonolo Matlou, Pule Mmodi and Mduduzi Shabalala.

Wandile Duba, Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley Du Preez and Christian Saile Basomboli will compete up front.

“We need to be given a chance and, at this moment, we have great players at Kaizer Chiefs.

“We would like to have these players with other experienced players that will help us.

“We would like to give these players the opportunity to perform,” points out Nabi.
