Two young women’s bodies were found dead in Kenville, Durban, following brutal shooting.
RESIDENTS in Kenville, Durban, said it will take time for them to forget the awful sight of two dead women covered in blood.
This is because on Sunday, 25 August, they found two young women lying dead in a pool of blood after they were shot by unknown assailants.
A resident told Daily Sun it was in the early hours of the morning when they heard gunshots. He said after the gunshots, they heard a car driving off at high speed.
“The next thing, two women were found dead exactly where the shooting happened. I also went to the scene, and it was an awful thing to look at. The women were young. They’re not from our area. No one knows them,” he said.
Another shocked resident said this was an act of a heartless person.

“I suspect the people who shot the women brought them here to kill them so that they could easily escape. I think they took the women from another place and killed them here. It’s sad because women are now afraid to leave their houses. They fear they too could be killed in that brutal manner. Both women had gunshots wounds to their heads,” said the resident.
He said he has never seen women killed in this manner, saying it’ll take time for him to forget the sight.
“I had to go and look in case it was people I know. Although it was people I don’t even know, it’s still painful and traumatic. I hope police will locate their families soon,” he said.
The KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said police in Greenwood Park have opened two counts of murder for investigation following the bodies of two women were found on Kenville Street in Greenwood Park on Sunday morning, 25 August.
“Police responded to reports of two bodies which were found along Johanna Road and upon arrival, two bodies of women believed to be in their mid-20s were found lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds,” Netshiunda said.
He said the suspects, as well as motive for the killing, are unknown at this stage.
