Weather forecast shows snow for Eagles vs. Rams

It’s looking increasingly likely that the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams will be playing their divisional playoff game in snowy conditions on Sunday afternoon.

Here’s the latest weather forecast:

That 3.55” precipitation total is up from the 2.6” that we posted about on Thursday.

The projection currently shows snowfall beginning around 12:30 PM Eastern on Sunday and lasting until around 8:30 PM. The Eagles’ kickoff is set for 3:00 PM.

There are different schools of thought on which team stands to benefit most from snowy conditions.

On one hand, Matthew Stafford hasn’t exactly thrived in inclement weather. And the Rams’ offense did not play very well in their sole cold game this season, a 19 to 9 win over the New York Jets.

Matthew Stafford outdoors in the rain/snow: 1-8 record, 54.6 completion percentage, 14 TDs, 11 INTs. 76.0 passer rating.

75% chance of snow on Sunday in Philadelphia.

On the other hand, a random factor like this could be an equalizer that helps the underdog.

The Eagles’ Snow Bowl victory over Stafford and the Detroit Lions in 2013 was one of the most special games ever to take place at Lincoln Financial Field. We’ll see if Sunday is another great memory for the Birds.
