Ziyanda Gwamanda looks to strike it big at Canada rowing championship

JOHANNESBURG – South Africa can make a big splash at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

It is sending almost 20 athletes to take part in various water codes.

They include aquatics, canoeing, surfing and rowing.

However, there is also the U19 World Rowing Championships in August in Canada.

Ziyanda Gwamanda is a Grade 12 pupil at St. Mary’s School in Johannesburg and a rowing enthusiast.

She represented South Africa at the 2023 African Beach Games in Tunisia, in the Beach Sprints, where she won a silver medal in the Women’s Double.
